Asset seizures, fabricated cases and corporate raiding through bankruptcies: how Anatoly Yablonsky, with the support of security forces, attacked Rotenberg’s structures

It has become known that operatives recently detained but immediately released the owner of the Antipinsky Oil Refinery (now renamed the Tyumen Oil Refinery), Anatoly Yablonsky, a confidant of Deputy Director of the Russian FSB Yevgeny Lovyrev.

Yablonsky was one of the beneficiaries of the security forces’ attack on Ilya Traber (Antikvar) and Arkady Rotenberg.

The source does not know the reasons for the detention but notes that although Yablonsky was quickly released, “the problem has still not been resolved.” It is known that Yablonsky and the generals behind him laid claim to the port infrastructure controlled by Traber’s and Rotenberg’s companies.

Yablonsky’s and Rotenberg’s interests also intersected in the alcohol industry. Yablonsky, like Rotenberg, interacted closely with former head of Rosalkogolregulirovanie Igor Chuyan. Their relationship can be described as joint participation in the redistribution of enterprises and the distribution of benefits from operations that later became the subject of claims against Chuyan. After Chuyan’s fall, Yablonsky’s influence on the alcohol industry remained. At the same time, the “mandate” for the industry was held by the Rotenbergs.

A separate story is Yablonsky’s role in the fate of the alcohol holding company Rial and the Abazekhov family. Through the now former head of the Judicial Department, Alexander Gusev, and security forces, Yablonsky initiated criminal and arbitration cases against the holding.

Another instrument of Yablonsky’s influence is bankruptcies. The businessman uses connections in the Presidential Administration, presenting interference in specific projects as protection of state interests. The projects then come under the control of the management company Delo, which is linked to him, and the necessary bankruptcy trustees are brought into the proceedings. Among the significant ones, Osmanova stands out, who in all major bankruptcy cases works in Yablonsky’s interests. In this system, administrative assistance, criminal prosecution, and bankruptcy management work primarily for Yablonsky’s benefit and for the transfer of assets under his control.
